The Pretty Peculiar Life is about not having that cookie-cutter, Pinterest -perfect, Instagram-worthy life but having something real. We all want to put our best face forward, especially in the days of social media, but what if we stopped and thought about what this does to our mental health?
By exploring this blog you will find self-care tips and mental wellness advice. (I may throw in a personal story or two so you know just how well I relate to what I’m saying!) You will find inspiration to do what’s best for YOU and eliminate anything in your life that isn’t working for you (yes, even people). You will also find a place to feel comfortable and understood – where it’s OK to not be the perfect picture of mental health and confidence…but we’ll get there!
I’ve struggled with mental illness for almost 15 years and really find we need more advocates out there. Think about it: the mental health advocates we know today are a million miles away – because they’re celebs. While I think it’s amazing we are finally beginning to openly discuss mental illness I think we need our friends, neighbors, sisters, parents, and spouses to advocate for and with us. I’ve hit rock bottom and I’m still working on myself but I’ve also learned a lot and would love nothing more than to share that with you; my reader.
Stick around and you’ll find ways to rock your day from morning until bedtime, how to avoid toxic people, self-care MUST HAVES, and life advice from someone who’s seen a thing or two!
